CHALLENGE
To design, build and deliver an Hydraulic Power Units (HPU) with lead time of less than one month, during the Christmas break, for shipment to North Africa.
The appliance was required drive hydraulically powered drilling equipment reliably in year-round, high North African temperatures.
SOLUTIONS
CD Power took a ‘can do’ approach to meeting this challenging deadline. Drawing on great industry relationships, including Staker Hydraulics, the team were able to source and manufacture a robust HPU that was simple to operate and maintain, featured an open-frame design and had a 300L fuel tank built into the skid base. Powered by an air-cooled Deutz F3L2011 diesel engine with a Deep Sea 3110 controller, the load sensing 80cc hydraulic pump delivers 95 litres per minute at 138 bar. The hydraulic cooler with twin DC fans enables the HPU to operate in ambient temperatures up to 50°C.
With calm heads and a tight schedule, the CD Power team were able to deliver at a time of year when most people were still sleeping off their festive indulgences.
