CHALLENGE

The laying of the north-west cable system, including subsea fibre-optic cable between Darwin and Port Hedland, is a key infrastructure project for the off-shore oil and gas industry and provides much needed regional network competition (breaking the current Telstra monopoly).
With the cable landing stations positioned in close proximity to a built-up residential area, the requirement was for back-up power offering exceptional reliability and strong sound attenuation.
